PERSONNEL OVERVIEW:
RE: Isaev Andrei
CC: file, Major Raikov, Major Ocelot, Colonel Volgin
Name: (ИСАЕВ, АНДРЕЙ АЛЕКСАНДРОВИЧ) Isaev, Andrei Alexandrovich
Rank: (ста́рший лейтена́нт) Senior Lieutenant, Ocelot Tactical Unit, Spetsnaz GRU
Age: 23, born in Petrograd on October 23, 1940
Appearance:
From GRU Spetsnaz Identification Badge:
Hair: blond
Eyes: grey
Height: 187.96 cm (6’ 2)
Weight: 86 kg (190 lbs)
Identifying scars or marks: small birthmark near the outer corner of left eye

(better images will be forthcoming)
Medical:
GRU incoming physical assessment, December 30, 1957
From attending physician’s notes: Cadet is well-built, mesomorphic, and of demonstrable pure and traceable ethnic Russian extraction. No observable defects or conditions which would prohibit the commission of full military duties.
Psychological Profile:
Analysis:
Recruit Isaev presents as insouciant and good-natured, with a wry sense of humor. Although these are not all, as a rule, considered ideal traits in the military demeanor, his charismatic qualities are clearly effective both among his peers and superiors. His unconventional coping approach indicates high tolerance of adversity and stress, and makes him singularly suited to a command or specialist position.
Cursory conversation reveals that subject is clearly educated beyond even State Youth Culture Program requirements. This stands to reason, as he is the son of [well-known government administrator] who is loyal to the Brehznev faction. However, cadet has stated he lacks any particular military ambitions, and is here largely because his older brother stands to inherit his father’s wealth and commerce, and because Officer is a respectable occupation.
Intelligence and psychological tests show high-level macro-awareness and philosophical cogency, which would be considered undesirable in the regular army, but I find to be well-suited to our outfit, considering that Recruit seems to have no problems taking orders and was pleasantly compliant and cooperative for the duration of this interview.
Thus, my recommendation would be intense specialist training and eventual assignment to a Covert Ops Unit within Spetsnaz.
(Excerpt from GRU intake assessment, performed January 3, 1958 by staff psychiatrist Krisov, Valentin, Dr.)
Combat proficiency:
Decent marksman, knows there are better. Cadet instinctively tends to focus on strengths, which are stealth and intuition-based. In drills, Cadet Isaev has proved to have a knack for assassin-style assaults at close range.
(Lebedin Nikolai Nicolaevich, Lieutenant, Staff weapons instructor, GRU officer training.)
The fucking bastard can’t shoot a fucking gun. Good thing he’s quiet.
(Major Ocelot, commanding officer, probationary Unit assessment.)
Leadership skills:
Extroverted, but not driven, cadet has no problems assuming a command role when called upon to do so. Excels as a left-hand man. Recommended for promotion to Ocelot Unit, on the basis of personality profile, physical and mental fitness and proven combat ability.
(Performance review, conducted 18.7.60 by Major Ivan Raikov)
Language skills:
Fluent in English, suppressible accent. Swedish and German are passable. Decent French, though very accented. (intake notes, supplementary)
Other:
Specialization: Trained in Siberia as a GRU tracker and orienteer.
Disciplinary actions:
From a form submitted by indirect superior:
Witness reported seeing behavior unbecoming of a Russian officer on the evening of [several lines blacked out] suspected unhealthy inclination toward fellow specialist, [blacked out]. Claim remains unverified as of 6.10.62. (signed, Leonev Konstantin, GRU Captain)
(Handwritten) Resolved, no merit found in accusation. (Signed by Major Ocelot, 11.6.62)
Dismissed without prejudice. (Signed by Major Raikov, acting on authorized behalf of Colonel Volgin, 12.6.62)
